Iglesia Ni Cristo Day(July 27) is Still in Philippine Holidays 2009 List

Would you still be happy if Malacañang Palace claries the declaration of July 27- Iglesia Ni Cristo Day as a Special Working Holiday? But still this is a date to mark in your calendar because July 27 is still in the list of Philippine Holidays 2009.

This is confirmed! Last July 8, 2009, the Palace Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita made a clarification regarding the conflicting issue or statement whether the said date is a special working or non–working holiday. Let us all remember that the Business District Areas in Manila specially in Makati and Pasig Cities are very particular with the declarations of Philippine Holidays. Now the Malacañang officially announced that July 27, 2009 (Iglesia Ni Cristo Day) is a SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY. (source: Inquirer.Net)

Well I’m not happy in the sense that I have to report at office for work instead of taking rest and have a long weekend vacation at home or somewhere else. But this is a remarkable issue specially for INC Followers. It’s good to know that PGMA and the Palace are recognizing Iglesia ni Cristo Day and the INC’s role in the community particularly in spiritual and moral formation among its followers and I am sure that INC followers are very happy to know that.

On the other hand, the declaration of that day as special working holiday is a beneficial to a regular worker or employee because this is a “double pay” day, might as well an extra income for all the family leaders.

Now I’m listing down the remaining Philippine Holidays 2009 as your reference and for you to plan ahead on any vacation or celebrations.

This is based on the Proclamation 1699 last December 24, 2008 signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in setting the dates of 2009 as regular and special holidays.

Regular Holidays for the rest of 2009:

August 31 (Monday) – National Heroes Day
November 30 (Monday) – Bonifacio Day
December 25 (Friday) – Christmas Day
December 30 (Wednesday) – Rizal Day

Special (Non-Working) Holidays for the rest of 2009:

August 21 (Friday) – Ninoy Aquino Day
November 1 (Sunday) – All Saints Day
November 2 (Monday) – Additional (Non-Working) Day
December 24 (Thursday) – Additional (Non-Working) Day
December 31 (Thursday) – Last Day of the Year

I’m still watching out for the possible declaration as holiday of “Ramadan”, which is not included in the list of Philippine Holidays 2009.

Ok lang naman kung gagawin itong holiday, pero naku naman! ang dami dami na nating holiday. Malapit na tayong mag top 1 sa buong mundo. Mabwibwisit ang mga foreign investors nyan hehehe..

ako kailangan kong pumasok talaga. ang clients ko kase ay lawyers ng california. pero ngayon i am being trained, mga doctors of california naman. kailangan ko tuloy pag aralan ang human anatomy.. gastrocnemius, dorsiflexion, Zoloft. yay. kailangan kong pumasok kahit holiday.

Sana dineclare na lang na holiday ang July 27 kasi marami din namang hindi makakapasok kasi magkakatraffic2x sa metro manila and other parts of the country. Mark my words. Baka pati mga congressmen at senators hindi makadalo nag SONA. Haha. May celebration kasi sa Rizal Stadium at Araneta. Meron din sa San Fernando, Pampanga, Calamba,Laguna, Nueva Ecija Ilocos Norte and other parts of the country.
