Top 10 SEO Tips for Beginners

I’ve been studying and applying SEO for the past 3 months from the time I first blogged and created my first entry post in this site. Now Im giving my Top 10 SEO Tips for Beginners, ohh days are too fast! For the past months, I’ve met different people with different personalities in blogging through blog hopping. Many of them, including newly found friends always ask me if I know about SEO.

For all the beginners, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. And if you use SEO techniques, it means you are optimizing a keyword. For everybody’s understanding, the main purpose of SEO is to race to the top search engine result for a specific keyword. From my research, a lot of pro blogger’s analysis said that people who search for a certain word or keyword in Google search engine always click the first or the number one item or result that they see. So this is the aim of all bloggers who practice SEO. Your goal is to have your blog entry or post be the number one slot or the top spot in search engine for a particular keyword. Do I make a sense? Did you understand it?

Now here is my simple Top 10 SEO tips for beginners for them to have a fully understand about the famous 3-letter word. I may not be in the position to give these tips because I am not a pro blogger, but to make any sense, these tips might contribute a lot specially for beginners who are in quest of the proper practice of SEO.

1.) If you are creating a new blog entry, always put your target keyword in the title tag or simply in the title itself. Let say you want to optimize the word “make money online” since many people are searching on how to make money online in the search engine. So might as well, you’ll gonna construct your title like…”How to Make Money Online”. So for those people who will search for the keyword “make money online”, there is a big chance for you to rank your post on the 1^st page of the search engine.

2.) Making quality content is an important factor to consider in SEO. A relevant content ensures a better listing from the search engine and give a creditability on your site. The latest trends among seo practitioners nowadays is to “hijack keyword”, it is ok to hijack keyword but make sure that you will make your original content out of the keyword that you grab and not just copy the content of other sites.

3.) I always emphases link building as an essential part of SEO. As you can see from my previous post, it explain a lot on how link building will help you to gain more traffic of visitors from search engine towards your site or blog. I remember a few days ago about this certain blogger, also considered as newly found friend in blogosphere, named Jerick, who is behind the blog Rickspot.Com. He told me that he already practicing SEO but his big problem is to gain big traffic. I simply advise him to go out of his blog, make comments to other blog, regularly visit other blogs or practice blog hopping as frequently as he can. For doing that, I guess he is happy now with the improvement of traffic from his blog.

4.) Use your keyword in your blog content. Some pro bloggers always advise to bold or italize the keyword twice or thrice so that Google crawlers might read your blog entry as fast as it can to place your post on the 1^st page of the search engine.

5.) Submission of your new blog entry to social bookmarking site is a great help for your blog post to be indexed as faster in the search engine. This is also one great source of big traffic. But a simply advise, do not over submit your entry as Google might penalize and de-index it in search engine.

6.) Use social networking sites like friendster, facebook, multiply, twitter, plurk and others. Put a link of your blog post on that social site and watch out if this could bring traffic to your site.

7.) Blog something that will give interest to your readers such as gadgets, a little bit of entertainment or even scandals. (wink).

8.) Blog also for a controversial topic no matter how funny or silly it is.

9.) Blog for a recently happening like typhoon, earthquake or volcanic eruption. See how the last controversial scandals brought a big traffic to all the blogs that used that keywords.

10.) And optimize your site’s design. Choose for a theme that is SEO ready, avoid many plugins and limit your blog into 2 up to 3 columns. Make a target that Google will first crawl on your blog entry and not to other plugins from your other site sidebars.

oo nga magaling talaga ka bro. marami ako nakuha sa blog posts mo..kaso lng nahirapan ako mag apply sa site ko..tinatry ko yan lahat pero hindi pa yata umipecto dahil kaunli palagi kailan pakaya…pero dami ako natutunan dito sa mga posts mo tungkol sa seo..hehe

Congrats Cris for a great traffic in your blog! Wow, you achieved that alexa rank in just 3 months? You’re really good in SEO.

As much as I want to post on SEO such as scandals and events such as typhoons, etc., I want to concentrate on my niche that’s why I pass on those topics but I am also optimizing my blog for certain keywords that are related to my niche.
